My yoga journey

Finding calm

I rediscovered yoga whilst managing an extremely stressful period of work. Arriving back on the mat provided an unexpected emotional release and an opportunity to slow down and reflect on the importance of true self-care.

What started out as a way to manage stress turned into an exploration of mindful movement and an awareness of the breath in creating a greater sense of inner calm and increased resilience, both on and off the mat.

During a much-needed yoga retreat, I felt inspired to share my love of yoga and its soothing effects with others, which set me on the path of teacher training and becoming The Happy Yogi.

My Philosophy

Gentle self‑care

My yoga philosophy is simple: I want it to be genuinely useful for navigating modern life.

I focus on learning to listen to our bodies exactly as they are right now, bringing kindness and mindful breath to every movement.

I believe yoga’s true benefits are found in the everyday moments—those gentle pauses and mindful breaths—which ultimately helps us feel calmer, stronger, and happier, both on and off the mat.

My teaching approach

Calm and supportive

My teaching approach is friendly, open and fully inclusive, helping everyone feel comfortable and supported on their mat. Each class is guided with a gentle focus on breath to movement and how you feel as you practice, drawing inspiration from these three key forms of yoga.

A dynamic practice that links breath with movement, creating a fluid, continuous “flow” designed to build your energy and endurance.

A slower-paced style that emphasizes foundational poses (asanas), giving you time to focus on your alignment, strength and stability.

Uses props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks, to fully support your body in passive poses for deep relaxation and healing the nervous system.

My qualifications

Always learning

I’m a proud graduate of the Newcastle Yoga School. Their teacher training course gave me the wonderful foundational base needed to bring you safe and informed classes.

My qualification is accredited by Yoga Alliance Professionals, so you can feel confident in our practice together.

My yoga journey is always evolving. I continue learning every day so I can grow as a teacher and share my practice with others.
